Design-Build Remodeling Across the Northern Boston Suburbs
The towns we know best, the homes we have built in them, and the reasons families across this area have been referring us to their neighbors since 2001
The Northern Boston suburbs We Have Been Building In Since 2001
Our work at PEGASUS Design-To-Build is focused on the triangle of towns north of Boston that sit above the Mass Pike, east of I-93, and inland from the coast. We know the housing stock in these communities, we know the local building departments, and we know what separates a home that looks right in a Melrose neighborhood from one that reads as a new build dropped onto an old street. Twenty-five years of working here is also why we can keep the service radius tight: every active PEGASUS project is within an easy drive of our home base, which matters when a weekly site visit is the difference between a project that stays on schedule and one that does not.
Melrose, MA
Our home base. Melrose is a tight-knit Victorian and Colonial community where most of our work is kitchen remodels, kitchen additions, and whole-home renovations on turn-of-the-century homes that need modern layouts without losing their character. The showroom on Main Street is the first stop for most of our Melrose clients.
Arlington, MA
Arlington's mix of Colonials, Victorians, and mid-century homes drives steady demand for kitchen additions and whole-home remodels. Older housing stock often needs real layout reconfiguration to work for how families live today, and Arlington clients tend to come to us specifically because we handle the design and structural work under one agreement.
Winchester, MA
Larger lots and a higher finish level are the norm in Winchester. Our Winchester projects lean toward whole-home remodels, primary suite additions, and premium-tier kitchens and baths where the detail work, from cabinetry to trim profiles, carries the whole project.
Stoneham, MA
Stoneham's mid-century and older housing stock is a strong match for the full range of what we build: kitchens, baths, additions, and whole-home remodels. It is also one of the towns where we see more ADU and in-law suite interest under the new Massachusetts ADU law.
Wakefield, MA
Wakefield has a consistent remodel market across kitchens and primary baths, and a growing share of additions opening up older Colonial floor plans. The town's building department is one we know well from 25 years of active projects here.
Lexington, MA
Lexington clients are often working on historically significant homes where period details matter and design has to respect what is already there. Our Lexington projects lean toward kitchen remodels, primary bath remodels, and additions where matching the existing home is the whole job.
Saugus, MA
Saugus anchors the eastern edge of our service radius. Projects here span kitchens, bathrooms, and the occasional full addition, and we tend to see steady demand from homeowners who want a local firm that understands the town rather than a regional builder driving in from further away.
Belmont, MA
Older housing stock and strong addition demand define our Belmont work. Many Belmont homes were built before families expected the kitchen to open to the rest of the first floor, and that is the single most common reason homeowners here come to us.
Reading, MA
Reading sees a steady mix of remodel and addition work across Colonials and capes. Kitchen remodels and rear kitchen additions are the projects we do most here, often paired with primary bath updates in the same scope.
Medford, MA
Medford is a density-aware market where lot constraints and proximity to neighbors shape what is buildable. Our Medford projects lean toward kitchen remodels, primary bath remodels, and tight-footprint additions that work within real zoning and setback limits.
Lynnfield, MA
Lynnfield's larger lots and established Colonials support a finish level on par with our Winchester work. Whole-home remodels, primary suite additions, and high-end kitchens are the projects we see most here, where homeowners are investing in homes they plan to stay in for the long haul.
Malden, MA
Malden's mix of older multi-family and single-family stock keeps our work here grounded in real layout problems: kitchens closed off from the rest of the house, dated baths, and first floors that no longer fit how families live. Kitchen remodels and rear additions are the projects we do most.
Our Design-Build Process
Every project starts with a conversation. We come alongside you to understand your vision, your home, and your investment range, then align on scope and priorities before any drawings begin.
In Our Clients' Words
They did excellent work for us in a redone basement and bathrooms ~4 years ago. Still holding up brilliantly!

Pegasus did a first floor addition to our home which included a primary bedroom, spacious closet, three piece bathroom, and pantry space. I cannot say enough positive things about working with this company! They made our vision come to life (thanks Jenna!) in a tight space. Start to finish everyone we interacted with was personable, highly skilled, and responsive. The project was completed on budget and quicker than the initial time projection. We lived in the home with two toddlers and a dog during the construction (while also working from home) and it was truly minimally disruptive to our daily routines. We received daily emails on the progress of the work which was so helpful (Mike is the best!). The space is gorgeous and makes me feel like I'm living in a fancy hotel. They are the best contractors I have ever worked with! I would highly recommend them!

Pegasus was awesome. Their communication was prompt and pleasant, we loved working with them. Our kitchen came together beautifully and they planned a beautiful space for us to live in!! Jenna is both an artist and a genius. We loved her design!

We absolutely loved every step of the home renovation process with Pegasus. We had our kitchen redone, and they had great ideas on layout and materials. They were extremely organized and communicative, and every member of their staff that we interacted with was professional and wonderful to work with. And we love our new kitchen. We would gladly seek them out for future work, and highly recommend them.

We had an amazing experience with Pegasus. We completed a kitchen remodel and mudroom/master bath/closet addition. They were on time, on budget, and so nice to work with. Every single person on the team was wonderful, and now we're living in our dream home!

Pegasus Contracting recently completed a kitchen renovation for me, and from start to finish they were absolutely wonderful to work with. They provided great recommendations and advice at the beginning around all the aspects - design, cabinets, tile, counter, flooring, lighting, appliances. The quality of the work throughout was excellent, their team is very experienced, dedicated, and respectful. I was tremendously grateful for the daily communication from the project manager; what a difference it made when living through a renovation to be kept informed on progress and what was planned for the next day. With highly skilled workers and expert coordination of all the phases of the project, my kitchen was completed exactly on timeline. Wow!

Working with Pegasus was a great experience. We were very nervous about doing a major renovation due to the bad experiences of other family members we have, but Pegasus guided us through the entire process. Jenna was fantastic working with us on design options and once construction got underway, Mike provided us with daily e-mail updates so we knew exactly what was going on.
No renovation project is going to be totally smooth, but Pegasus takes a lot of stress out of the process. I'd happily recommend them to anyone else seeking to do a home improvement project.

Don't See Your Town on the List?
Let's talk anyway
Our service radius is tight on purpose, but we do take on projects in the towns just outside it when the fit is right. Tell us where you are and what you are planning, and we will be honest about whether we can take on your project based on location, scope, and our current schedule.
